This is the offline version of the Gapminder World service that shows graphs and statistics about global parameters of various kinds: social, economic, military, environmental, and so on. Using this tool you will be able to see graphs and maps that show global and national data about life expectancy, health parameters, nativity and mortality values, economic growth, various economic factors like the income per person, CO2 emissions, and other more. Furthermore, all these stats are provided in an animated form, as this standalone application also features sliders that let you view the evolution of the selected stats, for the selected countries, over the course of entire decades.

Gapminder World is also really easy to use, as its interface is not crowded with unnecessary options or redundant functions. Even beginners can handle it without any problem.

Unfortunately, there are some downsides about Gapminder World as well. The application and the data that it presents haven't been updated quite a while, so using this tool for research purposes gets to be a bit difficult and risky. Furthermore, Flash-related script errors still occurred from time to time while I was using this tool, though complete crashes were not a case.

In conclusion, Gapminder World is an interesting tool, but its usefulness is not as remarkable as it could have been if both the tool and the data that it uses were properly and timely updated.
